Doilies in the Modern way

Cut 8 strands of yarn, each 1 yard long.
Starting at center, Ch 10. Join with SLst to form ring.
First Rnd: Working over 8 strands of yarn make 24 Sc in ring. Join with SLst. Drop strands.
2^nd Rnd:
* Ch 17, H-Dc in 6^th Ch from hook, (Ch 1, skip 1 Ch, Dc in next ch) 4 times;
Ch 1, skip 1 Ch, H-Dc in next Ch, Ch 1, Sc in next 3 Sc.
rep. from * around. Join (8 petals).
3^rd Rnd:
* Working over the 8 strands make 2 Sc in each of next 6 sps, 7 Sc in next sp, 2 Sc in each of next 6 sps, skip 1 Sc, Sc in next Sc.
rep. from * around. Break off 8 strands.
4^th Rnd: SLst in next 4 Sc. Ch 4,
* skip 1 Sc, Dc in next Sc, (Ch 2, skip 1 Sc, Dc in next Sc) 5 times;
in same place as last Dc was made make (Ch 2, Dc) twice (tip): (Ch 2, skip 1 Sc, Dc in next Sc) 5 times;
skip next Sc, holding back on hook the last lp of each Tr make Tr in next Sc and in corresponding Sc of next petal,
yarn over and draw through all lps on hook (joint Tr made).

5^th Rnd: Attach yarn to first sp of the 2 sps at top of any petal, Sc in same sp,
* Ch 5, Sc in next sp, Ch 10, skip 2 sps,
make (1) joint Dble-Tr by making (1) Dble-Tr in next sp and in corresponding sp on next petal,
Ch 10, skip 2 sps on same petal, Sc in next sp.

6^th , 7^th and 8^th Rnds:
* Ch 10, Sc in next lp.

* Ch 5, in next lp make cluster, Ch 7 and cluster: (Ch 5, in next lp make cluster, Ch 3 and cluster) twice.

24 Rnds have been completed (2 clusters at top of each pineapple on 24^th Rnd).

* Shell over shell, Ch 4, skip next sp, in next sp make Sc, Ch 3 and Sc: Ch 4, shell over shell, (Ch 10, Sc in next lp) 9 times;
Ch 10.

26^th Rnd:
* Shell over shell, Ch 4, skip next sp, Sc in next lp, Ch 4, cluster in sp of next shell, Ch 1, SLst back into sp of previous shell,

Work as for Doily, but do not break off at end of last Rnd.

3^rd Rnd; Sc in same place as SLst,
* Ch 5, skip 1 Sc, Sc in next Sc.

5^th to 11^th Rnds incl: Work as for last Rnd,
