The torso of a cardigan is often knit as a single piece in a simple back-and-forth manner.
By contrast, knitting a pullover as a single piece requires circular knitting.
Alternatively, the body of the cardigan may be knit in three pieces, one for the back and two for the front.

Although all types of necklines are found in cardigans, the V-neckline is especially popular.
The seam in front of a cardigan allows for many fashionable variations.

Basic knitting patterns for men, in 4 sizes; 40 - 46   IN CMS AND GRAMS !! 

Knit a tension swatch first    measure 10 x 10 cms and count the stitches and rows ; this is your gauge

If you have more or lesser rows in your tension swatch, follow the length given in cm's instead of rows,
in a pattern, this way it will fit always. Always check the length while you are knitting.

Knitting tip for drop sleeves:
At the end or top of the drop sleeve you have to cast off all the stitches at once.
create a little bow or sleeve top instead.
Cast for instance at the beginning of the row, 5 - 10 stitches off, repeat this 4 times.
Now you can cast off all the remaining stitches.
You will notice that the sleeve will fit and fall nicer than the usual way.
